Continuous Deflective Separation (CDS)

Continuous Deflective Separation (CDS) systems are structures placed on large storm drain lines to capture floatable trash/debris and sediment from a large drainage area.

The CDS technology effectively screens, separates and traps debris, sediment, and oil from stormwater runoff. The indirect screening capability of the system allows for 100% removal of floatables and neutrally buoyant material without clogging. It is available in offline, inline, and grate inlet configurations.

During very high storm events, the units are equipped with a bypass system to prevent upstream flooding. An oil baffle skirt surrounds the non-blocking screening and traps oil and grease. It separates previously captured oil and grease from high bypass flows, preventing scour and possible re-entrainment.

Advantages:
- Best suited for low maintenance requirements
- 80% Total Suspended Solids(TSS) Removal.
- Widely approved by regulatory agencies such as Ontario Ministry of Environment, Conservation Authorities and designed to Canadian Highway and Bridge Standards
- Unit has no moving parts and requires no supporting mechanical package to affect solid separation from stormwater flows

- All units are manufactured in Ontario for fast delivery
- Easily maintained from the surface by a vactor truck
- Small footprint minimizes excavation requirements
- Isolated sediment storage sump ensures retention of captured solids

Applications:
Many uses in municipal, industrial, commercial and residential stormwater applications.
